Alice in Wonderland Inspired Nails!

The first nail is the King of Hearts, second nail is the Flamingo used to play croquet with, the third is one of the singing flowers, the fourth is the caterpillar and the fifth is one of the Ace of Hearts playing cards.

I recently did a set of nails that was inspired by the movie Alice in Wonderland for a nail art contest. And the movie I am most fond of is the cartoon animated version from 1951. That is the one I grew up with. I give Johnny Depp and the rest of the cast credit for a job well done but I have to stick with what I know. Anyway, onto some pics of the nails I did and a video included of briefly how I created the designs. I am currently in the process of moving to a new state! While I will try to post and check in as much as I possibly can, I may be absent for the next week or 2, in order to have a smooth transition into my new home. Hope you enjoyed this design and please stick with me because I will be back to normal in a few weeks! Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Everyone Loves an Irish Girl!

(The pictures show my thumb nail, the first one was before I added the greet dots, and the second one is the completed design for every nail except the ring finger)

St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner and I got in the mood early for some green. So I got an early set of St. Patty's Day nails done. I started with a french tip on my own nail and that alone is just too plain for me now so I had to keep going. I started with one green stripe on each nail and ended with this. I am an Irish girl and this proudly displays my background. I am really happy with the way it looks and I love all the green colors. I did the Irish flag on the ring finger just for a little variety. SO what do you think? Any fellow Irish people who enjoyed this design? I hope so! Even those who aren't Irish can still enjoy this cute design! Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed and please leave and comments or questions below. Thanks again!

Disney Characters

I found another contest on YouTube with a movie theme. I decided to give some Disney characters another shot. I didn't do the same characters that I attempted before. I did a set of Disney Movie nails. Each nail represents a different Disney movie.

In order in the picture- Mushu from Mulan, Alice from Alice in Wonderland, Mike from Monsters Inc., Genie from Aladdin, and Chip from Beauty and the Beast. I included a few pictures and a tutorial video. The pictures aren't wonderful but the video shows the nail images well.

I entered the entire set into the contest so keep your fingers crossed for me! Feel free to check out the video I included which is a mini tutorial on how I did each design. Thanks for reading and hope you enjoy! Feel free to leave questions or comments and please check out my other designs!

I also included the video of the tutorial. Please check it out and let me know what you think! I love to hear comments, feedback, or even new ideas! Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed!

My Entries for a Valentine's Nail Design Contest

I entered another contest being hosted by Dollface22772(on YouTube) and I decided to enter. The theme is Valentine's and I have done quite a few already this year so I decided to enter a few of my designs. I am still working on a 3rd entry but my first 2 entries are above. Please check them out and please let me know what you guys think. The designs are not exactly new, they are ones that I have personally done though. Thanks for everyone's support! I am in the process of moving from Ohio to Arizona (it's insane!) but I will try to keep up with designs as much as possible. I will get on the road for the drive to Phoenix on March 1st so I might be absent for about a week around that date but otherwise, I will definitely post and be checking in as often as possible!

A Collection of Rainbows

I love colorful designs and that prompted me to do a rainbow design, and by the time I finished my first, I had thought of a few other interpretations. So these are all rainbow type designs done in different ways.
This is the classic rainbow, diagonal across he entire nail. When I say classic, I mean that I used all the right(as close as I had) colors and did them in the standard order. (ROYGBIV-Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet)
I like this one very much. I had thought about separating the colors with thin black lines but I also like to see the colors just overlap each other.
The next one was almost the same as the first, except I went horizontally across the nail with all the colors. I used different tints of most colors, but kept the same type of layout, just kept it going across the nail

This is one that I think is also perfect for St. Patrick's Day, which is right around the corner, but that isn't what I had in mind when doing it. I did a small pot of gold on the left side of the nail. I used gold polish to fill the pot with the gold coins :-)  Then I used bright colors and did rainbow streaks from the pot of gold stretching to the right side and top of the nail. I used pink instead of any purples so it would stand out a bit more on the end of the rainbow.
Three different rainbow styles? Do you have a favorite? I think I like the diagonal one the best but all are bright and colorful! Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed and please leave any comments or questions below! :-)

Crazy Hearts/Valentine's Day Design

A funky Valentine's Day design with all the "romantic" colors. I am running out of Valentine's Day designs, so I am not sure how many more I will have before the day is upon us but I am working on a few designs that are not holiday or special occasion. Anyway, enough of my rambling and onto the tutorial.
I didn't take pictures in between putting on each stripe but that's what I did. I picked four Valentine's type colors. I chose China Glaze-Bing Cherry(dark & shimmery red color), Sally Hansen- Xtreme Wear-Fuchsia Power(a bright pink), China Glaze- White Out(a bright white), and China Glaze- I Wanna Lei Ya(a more subtle and soft pink). I did a diagonal stripe of each color along the nail. I made them as even as I could but they aren't even at all, lol.
After the colors were all applied, I used Kiss nail paint (Black) and separated each color with a thin black line.

I used the same colors and created hearts. Starting with the bottom of the nail, what would be the cuticle area, I made a heart in the lighter pink area. I decided to use the same colors but go the other way with the pattern. So for the base colors, I went from cuticle to tip with light pink, then white, then bright pink, then dark red. For the hearts, I did the opposite. So the first heart was dark red, as shown in the pic. I titled the heart toward the left a bit.
The next heart was the bright pink. I went the opposite way with this heart and tilted it to the right
Then the white heart...which I then went opposite of the one before it again and made it tilt left, like the first heart did.
And finally the softer pink on the dark red, which tilted to the right.

This was the finally product. This was a design that I was creating it as I painted but I was actually quite happy with it.
Not as even as I would like but sometimes it nice to see things aren't exactly perfect. I don't know... what does everyone else think? Is anyone painting their nails special for Valentine's Day? I know I will but I still haven't settled on a design! Well thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and I encourage anyone to give this a try. Very easy and very cute!!!

Random Romantic Nail designs/Valentine's Day Nail Art

Here are 5 more possible Valentine's Day nail art designs. I did all of these myself. Some are easier than others and some came out looking better than others...but none the less, all are possible options for Valentine's Day. I am kind of glad it is right around the corner so I can move onto some St. Patrick's Day designs. Anyway, I didn't include tutorials for these but ask and you shall receive. I can also provide a list of the polishes I used in case anyone likes a color. So check out these "romantic" designs and let me know your thoughts!
Going from top left we have - A red french tip with a pink ribbon streamed across, a white dove, and several hearts in different colors. (Middle nail) An all black base with a heart-"flower" bouquet with green stems. (Top right nail) A diagonal red and pink french tip with black and white lines and red and pink dots. (Bottom left nail) Red lips (bottom right nail) Two gold keys with several heart hanging off from white strong attached to the keys.

Red lips. I went to outline them in black but it started getting worse results then I wanted so I stopped.

Ignore the top part please, I kind of broke it a bit, lol. A diagonal red and pink french tip with black and white lines and red and pink dots.
Hope you guys enjoyed and thanks for reading! What do you plan to wear for Valentine's day? Anything special? I still haven't decided yet but I will definitely take pictures!

Just a Bit Fruity- Part 2

More fruit coming at ya! I am sticking with the more traditional and easy to recognize fruit. This set is grapes, watermelon slice, apple, and another version of a strawberry. I was unhappy with the way my last strawberry looked and decided to try a different way of doing it.

I used two different color purple polished for the bunches of grapes and a green polish for the stem. They looked very cute I think. I used the dark purple color and made larger dots and used the lighter purple to fill in the naked areas with smaller dots.

The apple was pretty easy, as it looks. I used a red polish to create the shape, just making sure to curve the top and bottom a bit to give it that apple shape we all recognize. I used a brown polish for the stem and a added a small green leaf to accent the apple.

My second attempt at the strawberry came out better than the first. The first time I tried drawing a whole strawberry on the nail and this time I turned the whole nail into the strawberry. I used a red base colors, added green at the bottom by the cuticle area of the nail, to create the green top of the strawberry. Then I used a black polish a made small little oblong type dots in odd places all over the red area. Very simple very cute.

I think this was one of my favorite from this set. This is the watermelon slice, which again is the whole nail. I think it came out very cute and I was pleased with the results. I used a dark green for a small curved area around the cuticle. Next to the dark green, I added a thinner line of a lighter green, but curving the same way. After the greens, I used a light pink and made a curved area next to the light green. Then I finished the rest of the nail with a red colored polish. After the colors dried, I used a black polish and create small "seeds" all over the red and pink areas.

Which was your favorite? Is there another fruit you would like to see or another way of doing some of these fruits? I cannot wait to see what everyone thinks and if anyone has any other ideas! Thanks for reading and I hope you liked these designs! Please let me know if you have any requests, questions, or comments.
